  2. Christianity and the Middle Ages
  3. the spirit of Renaissance in France
  4. and the study of  extracts or

                   complete texts accepted as  representatives  of the major

                   phases in/ movements of French literature, starting from the

                   the Middle Ages till and including the Renaissance
